Hair is a filamentous biomaterial,the hair made of the medulla ,cortex and cuticle.The inner most part of the hair is known has medulla and they are in unstructured part of the hair.The structured part of the hair is known to be cortex and they are also said to be the middle part of the hair (cortex is also contain melanin and this form the colour to the hair .The diameter of the human hair is about 17 to180 micrometer ,The hair growth begins inside the hair follicle .

The color of the hair is said to be in two forms
Eumelanin It is a dominant pigment in the hair which in the form of the brown and black colour
Pheomelanin:it is dominant in the form of the red colour
